Bangladesh police launch assault on another militant den

Dhaka: Bangladesh police today propelled a strike on an aggressor cave in a northeastern city, a day after a group of eight submitted suicide by exploding themselves as security strengths raged another fear den.

"Our SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) group began operations at their (second) alcove," a cop in Moulvibazar told PTI.

Blasts and gunfire shook the area, witnesses said.

The police this week propelled 'Operation Hit Back' to flush out aggressors from their safehouses after they neglected to persuade them to surrender.

"The suicide blast exploded all who were inside the hideout...We accept seven to eight including minor kids were there when the activists detonated a capable gadget as we laid the attack to the nook," Monirul Islam, the head of police's counter fear based oppression unit, had told columnists yesterday.
